Gravebooks book review read March 2023

Title: Gravebooks

Author: J.A White

Number of pages: 272

Genre: Fantasy/horror/young adult/children

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Alex thought he was free from that apartment so many months ago, but when he wakes up to find himself in an endless graveyard and comes across Natasha there alive once more, he realizes the nightmare if far from over. Every night when he falls asleep, Natasha makes him write a story that's scary enough to produce a different exotic flower each time, not knowing what for, but Alex was soon to find out. It's not just any stories he has to write, it's stories he has yet to finish due to the writer's block he still has. Asking for help from Yasmin but getting denied being told she needed to move on to forget and ended their friendship, he tries to do things alone this time around. Will Alex be able to escape? Does he really have to face is alone this time around? Just as great as the first book! It was sooo good! Very cleverly written, wasn't boring or dragged got right into it! I enjoyed the whole idea and concept. I actually loved that Natasha was brought back into it, as she was kind of my favorite character. I hope Netflix comes out with a movie soon!

Pros: Very cleverly written, works well with the first book.

Cons: As with the first book I couldn't find any cons.

Recommended to: Those who have read the first book and anyone who loves a good fantasy story.

Nightbooks book review read March 2023

Title: Nightbooks
Author: J.A White
Number of pages: 320
Genre: Fantasy/horror/young adult/children's
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Alex was a bit different than other kids, they didn't want to hang out with the boy into horror gore and writing creepy stories. He loved scary stuff so much that his parents turned their house into a haunted house. But when no one shows up, Alex becomes upset, and decides to sneak out one night to throw away all his scary stories. On his way to the incinerator, Alex is stopped by the sound of a tv playing his favorite horror movie, he soon finds himself trapped by a witch in her enchanted apartment. Finding out that he is a writer, the witch lets Alex live if he reads her one of his scary stories every night. But when his stories are ripped to shreds, being left with only one more story, he realizes the stories aren't coming to him as naturally as they used when he has to write more. Joined by a young girl named Yazmin that was also trapped there by the witch, they try to form a plan to escape their captor and go back home.
I can't begin to tell you how much I love this book! I also really loved the movie just had to put that out there. 😅 I didn't know it was a book first, so I just had to get it. While there are loads of differences, the movie is still pretty great.

Pros: So well written!
Cons: couldn't really find many cons in this one!
Recommended to: Thos who love a good fantasy with a witch involved.

11 paper hearts book review read Febuary 2023

Title: 11 paper hearts
Author: Kelsey Hartwell
Number of pages: 320
Genre: Romance/young adult
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ella thought her life was going smoothly, she had her friends, a boyfriend, so why did she felt like something was missing? Ever since her accident she kept feeling like something was off, she couldn't explain the weird feeling she got when she was around her boyfriend and her best friends. When Ella starts to receive paper hearts from a secret admire a year later telling her that they might help her regain her memories nights before the accident and starts to follow where they say to go, she realizes this may be her only chance. But when everything comes together is when it all falls apart. As Ella slowly finds the paper hearts, she realizes her relationship with her best friends and boyfriend is not what it seems. One of my favorite books I have read in February. I loved the whole scavenger hunt plot especially it being on Valentines Day. I loved the locations and the two main characters. Yes, it's a bit cheesy but it's a cheesy I can kind of dig. 😅

Pros: Creative plot.
Cons: A bit cheesy
Recommended for: Those who like young adult romance.
